Does anyone make an electric pole sander to sand wood walls not drywall?
I purchased a $500 Porter-Cable sander but the $10 sanding disks don't take away enough material and they fall apart really quickly. I am looking to sand a lot of area and don't want to be up on a ladder. I am sure supprised that I cannot seem to find a disk sander on a pole. Any help would be appreciated.
You can put regular sandpaper in a pole sander but you may have to cut it to fit , I'm not sure how much of the wood you want sanded down , I assume the wall is already barewood ? and are you taking out marking and dirt from the wall or are you preparing it for staining ? don't use sanding disk on your wall if the grain of the wood is gonna be exposed or shown on the finish product because you'll see the round marking made by the sanding disk , the easiest way to remove anything from the wall is to use a belt sander , It's stronger and it sands the same direction as the wood grain , you can use a palm sander , it vibrates in a square motion , no matter which one you use , just make sure you choose the right sandpaper , the more you need to remove the more abrasive the sand paper should be and then do the finish sanding with a smoother sandpaper, If there's paint on the wall you can remove them with a liquid or paste stripper ( paint,varnish remover ) before you sand or just use an abrasive sandpaper that can take out paint , If you're just doing light sanding you can go with the pole sander but you'll be using lots of muscle if you need to take out a lot ,
