Why Do I Have A low Connection For My Internet?
I just got my computer fix and now i have 2 computer and i just bought a D-link Rangboster N Dual Band Router (Model DIR-628) and a D-Link Wireless N USB Adapter(Model DWA-130). One of my computers are Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit edition and my other one is Ubuntu 9.04. My computer is like 10.5 feet away from my router and it usually 64%-71% connection why is it that low?
It is because of two things:
Interference
and
the way the signal has to bounce to get to your computer.
Try repositioning the router, or turning the antennae till you get your 100% signal.
Note that if a lot of people around you have wireless, it doesnt matter what you do, the interference is going to cause a lot of issues.
Another thing you can try is changing the frequency your wireless broadcasts on. Since most people leave it on the default, changing can often lead to better signal and less interference.
Another thing to note is that routers are *usually* not 360 degree things. They usually aren't even 180 degree, so if your router is really high, and computer is really low, it will cut your signal.
