Why does the tile grouting sink into little holes as it dries?
Ive tried it on dry walls, wet walls, walls which have been PVA'd. Ive tried packing more in.Ive tried different grouts but they all sink into little holes as it dries and I have to go over it again to fill them in. help?
I have to ask if your using the right grout w/ the right tile and grout line size. Makes a world of difference. As you may have guessed the grout may be to thin or your dragging it out as you run the float over it. And are you using the right float w/ the right grout?. One poster said to hold the float at a 90 degree angle. NO you hold it at a 45 and go over the tile at a 45 as you pack it in. I ve always wash the tile w/ a rung out and only damp sponge. You can do circular motion but I always wash and go over the tile at a 45 to prevent pulling any grout out. I ve done several 100 000 s/f of tile and grout and never a call back.
