Self-taught piano lesson at age 2 - Does this have anything to do with my synesthesia?
I taught myself to play piano when I was two years and can play piano by ear naturally. They also play the flute and harp. So I see colors when listening to music and play which means you can also select note the specific note (s) played. I wonder if this "talent", as everybody says I told you, has something to do with my synesthesia. I can hear, smell, see, feel, the colors of my love of synesthesia. Thanks for all the people who answer this question, even if your answer can be chosen as "best answer". My gratitude comes directly from my heart! I have trouble reading music because ... I never thought of that. the colors match perfectly with the notes. I also write music ... just comes naturally. I sing too, but I play much better. When I sing, I see the colors as well. I like singing songs that other people have sung for see if they match the colors / rotation who have too.
I had not even heard the term synesthesia until I read this question. I am also self-taught musician and have had an extraordinary ability in music since he was two. I see notes as colors, but I have perfect pitch. Only I know that when a C is a C. I've always wondered if I always knew or just taught me this skill. It's only been there as long as I can remember. I take any instrument and just play. This started two years in a little body my mother bought my sister for Christmas. She was struggling with a music book and threw it aside. I went and just played the song he was trying to play the perfect note, no book. I prefer instruments with harmonies. When I sing, I sometimes can hear the harmonies (almost like someone sing with me) off my own head voice. Honestly, you need to read more about synesthesia, it might have something to to its capacity. It could also help to understand my own ability, so thanks! My instruments are the vocals, piano, flute, guitar, cello and practically anything I've collected. My question to you is this. Has struggled with reading music? I know the ropes, but I've always had a problem processing information to my fingers. I prefer to hear something and then just play it. I've wondered if there is a block away or if it's just laziness on my part ..... Thanks and I hope obtain an informed response to your question.
