Pregnant cat question?
There is this tabby cat that comes to our back door everyday and we feed her, we have been doing this for about 6 weeks now. She is sort of an outdoor cat for us now, since we already have 3 indoor cats. She's pretty young and little, I say she is no older than a year. Well we believe this tom cat that we have seen got her pregnant because she has gotten bigger over the past week and we now know she is pregnant. Well we don't know if we should just let her have the kittens and give them away or we should go to a vet and get her an abortion and get her fixed. We have a carrier by where we feed her so she can sleep in it but she doesn't seem to like too so she sleeps in our woods and storm drain. She is just to young to have cats and take care of them as she is just a kitten her self. What should we do?!
yep if she is not too far gone then take her in and have her spayed. with her being so young and small, a litter of kittens will likely kill her during birthing. that would be a horrible way to die. please take her in and have her spayed.
do not let her have them if it can be avoided. MILLIONs of cats and kittens are euthanized in shelters every year. Untold numbers die on the streets because they get dumped or abandoned, starvation, abuse, predators, freezing, parasites, being hit by cars, poisoning.. I would not want any animal to die like that. I think that is so much more cruel than having them aborted and ensuring that she does don't continually bring more unwanted kittens into the world.
