If you insist on doing it yourself, check the compost see if the water is softened. If so, remove it (it will be water-soluble putty Duroc), if it does not soften, probably in problems (Bondo and skips the board when removing). Be careful when you are creating and leveling the bed. I would recommend using wax to fill the boards unless you live in an environment hot, then the Duroc is the best (IMO).
