How To Remove Shavings From A Magnetic Nut Setter/Driver?
At work I drive a lot of hex-head self tapping metal screws with my drill and the appropriate sized nut setter. The nut setters I use have permanent magnets in them. Over time they get clogged with metal shavings to the point where I can barely put screw heads into them.
The difficulty in cleaning them out is that it's very difficult to get metal filings out of a magnetized, recessed space. Does anyone know of a good way to clean them out?
Question about the larger magnet suggestion: will that demagnetize my nut setter?
The best way I found is to take the gum I'm chewing and press it into the nut driver and pull the chips out, no fuss no muss.
