What exactly do I need to lift my 1998 cherokee (xj) with a 4.5" suspension lift?
I plan on lifting my jeep with a 4.5" rubicon lift. What will I need other than the lift kit itself?
Would I need a slip yoke eliminator?
what about lockers?
Instead of extending the drive shaft, could I use one of those transfer case drop kits?
if so would I still need a SYE?
This is my daily driver and i doo travel a couple hundred miles at a time quite often so I need it to be good on the highway. any info will be greatly appreciated. thanks
I have a 94 Xj with a 4.5" lift. I did not need an SYE or to drop the transfer case. I had issues with the FRONT drive shaft angle. And a transfer case drop would have worsened it because it would have raised the front output angle.
My adive is to buy a good lift kit and install it then check for the vibes. Most kits come with the transfer case drop.
Lockers can wait and most likely aren't needed unless you do some hard core off roading.
