fresh plaster on my bathroom walls (totally dry) do i need to prime over the plaster before fitting ceramic wall tiles..thanks

That depends on the mastic that is being used. There are, in existence, 'grout' style adhesive for ceramic tiles, which is kind of like a plaster material itself; if that's the case, then you want it to bond WITH the plaster, so therefore don't prime anything (this is used most commonly for FLOOR installations however.) IF the stuff you have is more like a 'glue-like' mastic (which is more commonly used for wall installations)---meaning, it looks more like construction sealant (i.e., "liquid nails" caulking, or something like that, but in a bucket) than it does like mortar, or grout; then this stuff needs a smooth chaulk free surface which means you must prime the wall first. Read the adhesive bucket carefully, and if you still have doubts, I'd call the tech people at the company who manufactured the bonding adhesive; that's what I've done in the past with paint questions.
