Can I install Granite Tile over Formica surface ?????
I have a Formica countertop that I would like to change and I do not like Ceramic Tile. I would rather use Granite Tile but really fo not want to remove the existing Formica Countertop.
You really should go to the trouble of removing the existing counter top for a couple of reasons. First your tile job is only as good at the substrate and second you are going to experience a noticeable height difference on your work surface (the thickness of the tile plus the mortar) If you do leave the Formica consider using a crack suppressant in case the pressboard under your Formica swells when wet.
