Reciprocating saw blade goes up, what should I do?
Skil 9.5 Amp Recip bought orbital. saw to cut wooden beams in the corner where I can not enter any other tools. Concrete wall studs (in the basement). The sheet that comes with the saw going up when it hits the wood or concrete and I keep straightening up and keep trying, but I'm afraid that is adjusted over time. Does anyone have any suggestions for the blade to buy? I am thinking more short and wide, perhaps? Or I was made of metal? Any other suggestions? It is necessary to match the length of the blade to work. The blades shorter / wider is better for Jams in the corners or walls unless the need more fundamental. I always put the leaves with teeth up too. This gets you close to the wall and keep the blade flat against the cutting area instead of jamming the tip in concrete. It may sound strange, but a sawzall is an art not a science, and requires experience and practice. The demolition bimetal blades are pretty good tearing things apart. Try adjusting the angle of attack to get the smaller "bite" in the trunk. This will accelerate the ability of the jigsaw to cut. You will go through a pile of leaves. Get extras.
