OKAY!!!
I KNOW NO ONE HAS ASKED THIS BUT I DONT KNOW PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESITON.
Whenever you guys play pokemon gold silver or crystal version, there is a "real-time" thing on those three games.
like you play it at 4:00 PM and then you turn it off and then 4 hours later you play it again, and BOOM, its like 8:00 PM something.
how does it work/
i mean it even knows daylight savings.
These three games came out for the Gameboy Color, but can be played in latest version systems as well.
so i cant to know how the game pak does it, or the creator of gold silver and crystal does it.
i mean its not like the nintendo ds, where there is real time.
how does the game pak or gold silver crystal version know what time it is?
is there a small chip battery in there?
ive been thinking of this for years and still cant figure it out
please answer my question so i dont get stressed over this.

Inside Gold Silver and Crystal,there is a little battery.This battery keeps track of time and keeps the save file of the game.When the battery runs out,you must replace it or you can't save your game.In the DS,this is fixed,because now we have a bigger,rechargeable* battery,among other things.
